What do I think of Unraid?

First of all I love Unraid, but it’s not for everyone. In 2019 my brother showed me his Unraid server. I really liked the ease of use for containers and how you could also host VMs. The ease of use in Unraid is what has made it popular.

At the time when I started I just wanted to host my Plex Library and run Nextcloud, as well as a VM or two to play with. What I have come to now is much higher requirements from the system for my future plans.

Upgrading to Terraform 0.12

Terra What 0.12?

So I just upgraded the backend of the site to terraform 0.12. Basically this website is running software called Terraform and 0.12 is a huge step forward in the version of this. I mostly went over the upgrade guide from the Terraform Website. It worked pretty well but a few things were not as clear to my understanding. Attributes vs Blocks was pretty straightforward, which was one of the biggest things I had to change. The other thing I changed was moving to dynamic blocks for some of the code. Using dynamic blocks really cleaned up the core of the code and allowed me to move some of the configuration to variables to make it easier.

Again you say?

Well its been a while since I posted. I have been mostly playing with the backend of the site, along with all my other responsibilties. I have a few ideas for new posts. I think my idea for posts is usually to grand and its something I need to scale back down to maybe smaller “blog” type formatting. We shall see how it goes. I dont have a timeline or anything, but will post as I can with something interesting.

A blog you say?

What prompted me to start a blog? Well I think its mostly me wanting to document my testing and messing around. This will allow me to have a place to post and show others what I have been working on.

Another reason I am looking to start this blog is I am looking to learn in all aspects of life and having a location to jot down the information I learn will only solidify what I do experience and absorb. Not only writing down what I am learning for documentation purposes helps, but it will also help me become a better writer and organize my thoughts more clearly.
